The Silver Bream is actually its own species Blicca bjoerkna Common Bream Abramis Brama
two very different species a lot of anglers get the misconception that silver bream is another name or as some one on here said posh name for a skimmer...
i know of severall places where yer can catch them in the north east, east rounton pond used to have a few in as well as ruffe, the others i cant disclose as they are very privately owned lakes and smallponds and i actually get to fish them, the other place is farmire trout fishery of all places near knaresbrough,i havent been for years but i know the layout has changed dramaticly to the scenery and pond layout,im told he still got his lovely strain of carp in the pond same strain as walkers record fish cant remeber the name for love nor money,so the chances are the silver bream are still there.
if yer after differnt species to catch try the pumpkinseed/sunfish they used to be in whessoe road pond darlington in fact the uk record once came from there, also theys a pond in sherwood forest that has black bullhead catfish in it
