Mick, the day tickets on the resi have been a good idea but for the quotes been given for the the extra insurance cover they would nowhere near cover the cost of the extra premium charges, It was just a case of belt tightening!! I think a website would be great for the the club and will bring it up at the next committee meeting as the club are certainly not ashamed of the the waters they control. There's 4 teriffic stretches on the swale which a number of clubs would snatch our hands off for if we ever wanted to get rid of them, Jeff Herbert has put in endless hours on the river making them the stretches they are! Theres the tees at Dinsdale, opposite the assocation water, either side of the Toll bridge which has some good fishing, The two ponds at Hutton which the back pond has just undergone redevelopment and the resi, not to mention the L.T.A.A water at bowesfield and association with Locke Park!!

I still think it's a bit coincidental that it's happened this weekend.
As for your comment ussless, the lads don't "badly" want to fish the resi. Who gave you that idea?. So why pay to join M.A.C when they dont have too or even want too

John, couldn't see were you were coming from with the 'coincidental' comment so i checked back over the previous topic in this section and there it was!!

The only coincidence is that M.A.C committee meetings fall on the last Thursday of the month, any correspondance or matters for the club are dealt with on that night and the situatation was only brought to the table lastnight!!!

Now, I can see how this would look considering peoples issues / problems with the club and its members in the past but I for one would be last person on earth to try and throw a spanner in the works of people's plans for a days fishing and people who know me on this forum will know that thats the absolute truth!!!

Now, as i've said, the decision taken was made on what the committee thought right for the club and if there were any malice attatched to it, I would certainly not posted the message myself!!

As for the website idea, the club is desperate for one, every other club in the area has its own website apart from middlesbrough, and since 98% of the world wide community find out infomation these days via the internet, middlesbrough are losing out on members as other clubs get priority on this, i brought this subject up with ron thompson around a year ago and offered to do a basic one for the club, but he wasnt intrested, said it cost too much! with the likes of paypal the club could have a basic website and set up for memberships via paypal like leeds do, not rocket science and to be fair it wouldnt cost that much, webspace is cheap enough these days. good luck on putting it across it can only be good for the club in the long run

Im looking forward to trying hutton this year as i didnt get on it last and also give the new pond a try once its fishable . Also wouldnt mind a go on the stretch  of the swale at maunby, as for the other stretches we had a run out last year and went round all the diffrent stretches owned and to be fair maunby will be the only one that will see me lol but thats down to personal choice.

dont suppose there was anything mentioned at the meeting as to why the woods at back of the resi are been removed, used to get plenty of protection from the elements, but now its wide open, i know they are making the car park bigger, but i didnt think they would make it that big lol

Blue, like i've said, i'll take the website comments to the committee at the next meeting and see what comes of it! Personally, even if it was just an 'information' site to begin with i think it would be of benefit to the club and any future members!

Hutton back pond is now full of water and looking well, pegging and planting will start soon and restocking looking like being towards the end of 2012, coming in with stocking time recomendations from the fish farm the club use's and the E.A.

Nothing mentioned about the woods at the resi but if you contact Ron Thompson or dennis Smith they will gladly give you any information you require.

Just a quick comment as I'm not a member  of M'bro AC but Dales the messenger so don't shoot him, he's only trying to let as many folk as possible know about the changes as quickly as possible

Big question though, have they let the tackle shops know so they can put some kind of notice up and tell folk when the rule change is effective from as I' guessing that the current insurance is still valid and has'nt run out yet so day ticket members will still be insured until the current insurance expires

Can see a lot of tackle shops taking the flak for this when its a committe desicion unless they're able to put up notices in advance of any changes

Good point Brian so i've just been intouch with Ron Thompson!

The day ticket situation has come about on the Renewing of the clubs insurance policy, which was dealt with by the clubs secretary and treasurer, thats why it has taken imediate effect.

Ron was in the process of informing tackle shops who offer the day ticket sales at 9am this morning when i contacted him!

Nobody is shooting anyone Bri, i for one am pleased this was posted by dale, i used to get my fair share of day tickets for the resi for friends and family through out the year, its saved me wasting the petrol driving to get one to find out sorry we no longer do them!
