restocking charlies
« on: January 15, 2012, 02:07:52 pm »
alright lads i havent been on for a while over the christmas period due to family ect but i would just like to make people aware that charltons pond is being re-stocked sometime early this year with 200 6-8 inch carp as they lost over 150 last winter due to the harsh conditions, i hope to get my self their sometime when the weather perks up, i havent been fishing for a while which is a shame becuase it's somthing i really enjoy and havent been able to enjoy as much because of the weather.
all the best walo  :)

It will be better for the carp next year. The 150 they lost were of 2-3lb range so 6-8 inch stockies are going to need time to settle and grow.

As the newsletter states, all the carp are to be stocked into the small pond.

We are still hopeful of obtaining some bream, in the 2lb to 3lb range, to stock into the large pond.

We don't know how many, nor when the fish will become available.

Large bream are very hard to obtain, and can be expensive if bought commercially (about £7.50 per lb). :'(
