Good day fished bread only. Bread was decrusted, microwaved and rolled flat. Then puched out (only had meat punches but fine). Two 4mm discs straight onto hook. Liquidised bread for feed (used sparingly shaun) also had some black groundbait made up for feeder.

Doubts about bread staying on hook were dispelled second cast with small skimmer 2nd cast. Peg 5 i think near tower gentle lob paralell to tower. Around 15-20 skimmers, some decent ones as well approaching a 1lb and a proper bream Pop pic on later - about half an hour after you left Rich. Couple of quiet spells especially when rich the jinx was there but good day (for January. Defo try bread again and could be a killer on the pole.

kev fished 2 down, loads of roach early but then died.

Nice one Paul once you get your confidence up with bread it can be deadly mate glad you had a good un

Pic taken on phone so pretty poor, picture doesn't do it justice, fish was a lot darker and net is slightly lifted, It was about 4-5 inches shorter than the net (20-22" round net).



Defo mick will sure be trying it again rather than fishing maggot, seemed to pick out better fish.

nice fish mate we did well on river no proper bream but loads of big roach an10 od skimmers even 4 or 5 decent perch

Been quiet on the river this week, the old fella from Friday was there on Monday, he had a fair few at by dinner time and no-one yesterday. been a tel free zone this week.

Nice to get a proper bream so early this year Hoped there may have been more but wasn't to be. Skimmers were decent quality though.

Mixed a bit of hemp with liccy, as usual had way too much. Didn't even bother trying worm.

I'll definitely fish it again, probably on the pole.

Sorry lads meant to also say a big thanks to you all for the tips on bread and feeding.

Enjoyed a good day thanks to you all when I was expecting a pretty poor day and that made it a lot better, the days when you're expecting next to nothing and you have a fair bag for winter.

Big up to you all and once again I've learnt a fair bit and a new method to try again

Was well pleased with it for 2nd trip this year and like I keep saying totally unexpected and probably shyest bite of the day.

Not going to guess it's weight as it was nowhere near my best out of there at 7lb, weighed by a carp lad,  and that was a lot longer, 4-5 inches bigger than the landing net...........a double figure bream would be nice if there's any in there
