Anyone know what there ponds are like now? I've heard they've been fishing well for Bream and Tench? Anyone got a rough idea of what size they go to and what other species are there?

Cheers..

Westgate pond has some very good tench in it, you tend to catch a netful of 1lbers then suddenly hook into a 5 lber. It's a strange one though - you get a netful one day and then struggle the next

Just been to Yarm Clubhouse to get one. £2.50 the robbing gets! Also had a walk round the Bishopton Mill Pond. Didn't realise how big it is! Must be pushing 4 acres. Unfortunately about 3.8 acres are choked up with weed. There's a few fishable swims but a pond rake would be essential. Anyone ever fished it and can give me any details? All i saw was small Roach the biggest being about 4 inch. I've heard there's 8lb Tench in there?

ive had tench to 8lb, & big bream but not weighed them best bet is to rake it & get there early the next morning, also plenty of little perch.

westgate has always been hit & miss, even before atdac got it never 2 days the same ::)

From memory, I recall there being a rake available for use. Agree with your comment on westgate, sometimes you can get for an evening and get a netful of tench, some big, and at other times it seems devoid of life. James

Yeh was thinking i'd rake it and pre bait it the evening before, but knowing my luck someone would be pulling lumps out of it when i got there the next day!
