match rules, tips
« on: May 14, 2011, 10:22:58 pm »
Both needed, never fished a match, don't know how it works, or equipment needed
Tips advice and all needed
Cheers

Today she met me at the door, said I would have to choose, if I picked that fishing pole today, she'd be packing all her things and she'd be gone by noon....well I'm gonna miss her!

now mate. basic match rules.

No putting bait in before the start of the match

obey all fishery rules

fish with 1 rod/ pole at a time ie dont chuck a feeder out and leave it whilst pole fishing.

no bite alarms

most fisheries only allow 50lb per keepnet

Ah rite. You would stil be classed as a junior then mate. I dare say the wilton lads would let you fish as a guest on some of there matches if there are pegs free , it would just be a matter of getting a lift off one of them. Ask them on here mate for there next match, can only say no?

the best advice i can give is, to turn up to one of the wilton matches & have a walk round. it's full of good lads, with a good standard of anglers that will soon put you on the right track. Some of the best young guns around today started at wilton, just from taking things on board first then learning as they go on. it's always hard when you first start match fishing, thinking everyones a cut above but with the lads on this site it will all come together.

another good bit of advice is, never be affraid to ask questions, no matter what it is, coz it's all part of the learning curve and most are willing to put the young ones on the right track, we've all bean there.  ;)
