Cheap Local Club
« on: May 10, 2011, 08:26:28 pm »
Looking for a local club with a few decent waters. Has to be cheap because I am on a tight budget. Missed out on Billingham cause they don't advertise just stick a handful of app forms in Tackle Box and once they're gone they're gone.

Was thinking about Middlesbrough because I used to be a junior member many moons ago. How much is it now, what waters do they have?

It's £35 plus £10 joining fee for the first year.

They have new marske, locke park and hutton rudby ponds. Also river stretches - tees LTAA Bowesfield and upper dinsdale, swale - gatenby, holme, maunby and ainderby plus leven bridge upstream.

800 carp i think, there was some deal with the local council to allow it's use for special needs/disabled to fish it from time to time and get coaching i think.

Ian from the resi (not the ean/ian on here) fished it and said he only had 10 roach - it's always 10 lol.

Saw someone fishing it on Monday at 7am when I was going to work, pass it every day, was tempted to stop off and ask if he was "catching out". Might try it one day during the week when the kids are at school, if only to bring back memories from many years ago.

Off to Redcar Angling Centre tomorrow so can get you a form and post it to you if you want, just pm if you want one.

Think both are about the same distance away. Maybe use the one that you come to off the Bridge (Mersey Rd) and fish that end near the water feature thing, near the boat house ? - if they still have boats.
