North Air Ambulance Match
« on: January 06, 2009, 11:33:38 am »
I am thinking of arranging a match in the warmer months, to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance, the reason for this initial post is to find out what interest there would be from the forum users and to the venues that people would like to fish.

The reason for the match is as follows:

Just before christmas my brother in law, (a fellow angler) was fishing at lockwood beck and suffered a potentially fatal heart attack, the ambulance arrived to provide the neccessary medical care, however the ambulance / paramedic crew realised that the air ambulance was required to get my brother in law to James Cook hospital.  The air ambulance helicopter duly arrived and transferred him to hospital where he received the treatment required.  The hospital have advised that if the helicopter had not been there my brother in law would have not made it. (the ambulance would not have been fast enough by road)

He is now recovering and looking forward to getting back out onto the bank.

As you may or may not know the Great North Air Ambulance relies on charitable donations to continue to fly and provide an essential service.

I now think about some of the remote places where we fish and think what would happen if the ambulances couldn't get too us who would help us !  The Great North Air Ambulance

So anybody interested !
c'mon the Boro FC !

I'm up for it depending on shifts. I'll have a word with Dave.C seeing as it is when the weather is warmer he might blow the dust off his gear. ;D
